COACHES

Kyle Stark

I found CrossFit in late 2010 and fell in love.  Shortly after that I got my CrossFit Level 1 and began sharing my passion with others.  My favorite part of coaching is watching people accomplish things that they didn't believe were possible.

Certifications: Certified Level 3 CrossFit Trainer, CrossFit Movement and Mobility, CrossFit Weightlifting 1 & 2, CrossFit Scaling Course, CrossFit Running, CrossFit Anatomy, CrossFit Judges, CrossFit Programming, CrossFit Gymnastics, Diesel Days 1, Pendlay Level 1 and Level 2, Outlaw Way Doomsday and Para Bellum Camps, Faith Rx’d, Faith and Hustle Ambassador, Chris Hinshaw Aerobic Capacity Seminar, Crossroads Adaptive Coaches Seminar, Power Monkey Camp, American Heart Association CPR and AED

Brianna Connock

I joined CrossFit SOTO in 2019 after ending my decade-long competitive swimming career. I was no longer doing the sport that quite literally defined me and I had no clue what to do with myself. My partner and fellow coach Ethan made me come to a class at SOTO, and I instantly fell in love with the friendly competition and the constant variations that the sport provided. After a few years of personal growth, a lot of it in Ethan's parents' driveway during the pandemic, I got my L-1 so that I could provide what so many coaches provided me when I started: genuine support and a love of fitness. I love to celebrate athletes and their little wins each day, and if you know me you know I love to lift heavy and inspire others to see how strong they truly are!

When I'm not coaching or working out at SOTO, I am working as the Social Media Editor at Cincinnati Magazine or at home with Ethan and our cat, Rhubarb.

Ethan Wayman

I started CrossFit in 2017 after ending my last season of high school soccer after being pressured into it by my older brother. I then attended the University of Cincinnati for a degree in Biomedical Engineering and quickly joined UC’s CrossFit club. Eventually I went on to become the president of UC’s CrossFit club until I graduated in May of 2022. I then got my CrossFit L1 and started to coach soon after. I love the community of CrossFit SOTO, and I have been able to make some amazing friends in the 7 years and counting that I have been a member, and now a coach. My favorite part of coaching is watching the bond that people can make when enduring suffering together.

After playing 2 years of collegiate soccer, I stopped working out completely. My Dad and Sister had always talked about CrossFit and the community, so I finally decided to try it in 2017! I quickly got hooked, and haven’t looked back since! I joined FWCF in 2019 and after having coached soccer for several years, I decided to pursue coaching CrossFit. I love watching athletes tackle workouts, and helping them to achieve their goals. If I’m not at the gym you can probably find me on the golf course!

Certifications: CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, CPR/AED Certified

Jenna McVey

Before becoming a coach Jenna loved being a part of the CrossFit community and became a very competitive athlete. She still trains and competes regularly in not only local competitions, but also competitions around the US. Outside of CrossFit, Jenna loves spending time with her dog, Loki, and going all the hiking adventures whenever possible.
